Simply Basic

It's like slowing down on a warm summer night...

We're learning to simplify, to pare down, in response to life's hectic pace and challenges. Every so often we're stopping the clock, putting work aside and spending family time. We're taking stock and re-shifting our priorities.

In the home, we love the idea of decor punctuated by bright colors. (Check out our Color Trends Report.) But we're also embracing the basics. And quality. And a good deal to be had. We're shopping smart. Picking up subtle neutrals that can work every which way - with decor from classic and traditional to retro or contemporary.

And sometimes spending that little extra, too, for essentials we know will serve us well in the bed or bath for a long time to come - especially worth the investment as we spend more time on the homefront.

Sometimes "trends" are a return - in the best sense - to the past.
